I also think the i4e app looks good although I have yet to try it.

I noticed there is an app called d20 rules which appears to be all the rules to the 3.5 ed, but does anyone know of anything similar for 4th ed?

Also I would like to see a good app for creating scenarios, as a DM I’d find that Very useful!

Not adding much to the topic, but I have sought cool RPG’s & gamer helpers for iPhone. I didn’t find much useful — the dice simulators are cool, but … I prefer dice.

I was working with a developer on a character sheet archive software, and he dropped out when we were ~ 30% done. If anyone’s an iPhone dev out there, hit me up & we can work together (I’m an artistic creative gamer type). All the char sheet apps I’ve seen are limited to a system.

But cool apps? I like: Defender Chronicles, HighBorn, Battle of Wesnoth, Fargoal, Rogue Touch, Archon, Sorceror, Dungeon Solitaire, Catan (ie Settlers of….), and Civilizations Revolutions

I also like BGG (board game geek) app, and I use TapForms to save my current characters from games. TapForms is a db, not spec tailored for gaming, so it’s not a perfect fit for gaming — but it also does other cool stuff.

I also tried Google Wave & several ‘gaming table’ simulators for PC. From what I see now, they’re all ‘apps in progress’, but I imagine soon they’ll be awesome.

As for the iPhone vs whatever argument, it’s irrelevant. The smartphone experience is a personal thing. I used to be love my Treo, then it broke. I bought a Droid 1.0, returned it, unsatisfied. Then I got an iPhone — and I was impressed, despite all the block the developer / counter-creative stuff Apple has done on the phone. And the iPhone 4 is even better. I enjoyed my old Treo, liked my old Blackberry (esp battery life), didn’t like my HTC Droid, and now the iPhone — wow, I am still impressed 2 yrs later, despite various shortcomings of the phone.

Just stumbled across this thread whilst looking to find improovements for my D&D game (we have been looking at laptops and iPhone apps and even a projector to turn the table into a more ‘colorful’ surface) we still use pen and paper as well and our figures (don’t think we will ever give that up) the thread was really useful. The conversation underneath is ridiculous, as a PC user and a iPhone user im seeing both sides, and you guys need to chill the F out. PC’s and D&D definately go together with less hassle, Wizards are far more PC friendly than mac, and i know that the iPhone is not the ’savior of mankind’ but it does do more and has a much wider base for plugins, but the main reason people like it so much? its user friendly. its a pretty machine that works extreemly well, most Palm-pre/windowsmobile/etc etc cannot beat it for that. especially not in its price range. all in all just let bygones be bygones guys theres room in this world for both, and competition means advance ment, we all win! *gets off soap box* ehem.

ok so really this is not about the GD phones or who is better its about the apps for d&d if you want to bash eachothers phones then do it some where else this is just plain dumb.

btw great list do you know if they work on a blackberry. i cant seem to find a pc sheet like this anywhere on the web for my blackberry.

When did this become about treo vs iPhone? Anyways I found i4e to be a great iPhone app . It uses the character save from the insider character builder.it is needs user input. But works great after that .

Sounds like someone has a little inferiority complex Treo fans? Let’s face it, there’s a lot of knowledge out there. We know in theory how to punch a black hole in space, but it’s the ability to bring technologies togethere that is all the difference. Sorry Treo boyz, don’t hyperventilate, but Iphone RULES!

Ok before I speak I would just like to say that I have had the palm pre since about a month after it came out, and have tried a few other smart phones. This is my very first apple product (I even use a pc at home and refuse to buy a mac) and yet I find that my new iPhone runs the smoothest compared to the others. So all of you people out there who just love bashing on those who use apple products please let us have our own freaking opinions and go blow of steam somewhere else, also if you do get the chance try out the iPhone and tell me that it doesn’t run smoother than other smart phones.

I’m saying it’s rediculous to squabble over what’s better. I don’t care what other people paid over one hundred bucks for just so they can look at porn at work. If one is truely the inferior product, fine, it sucks for all those that own it. And guess what? I’m not gonna give myself an anurism because someone likes their phone! What you guys are doing is like a really lame version of racism.
